It's 1038 square feet and it's all ours. Today we signed a mountain of papers officially purchasing our first house!
I started this blog today... to help me remember all of the wonderful experiences in my life and to share my happiness. Since December, I have been actively planning one of the biggest days of my life. In September I will be marrying Rick Hage. He is a 31 year old architect with adorable dimples, big brown eyes, a heart of solid gold and he adores me unconditionally. Rick and I met through his brother and sister-in-law about a year ago and fell madly in love. He is my best friend and definitely my partner in crime.
Today, my partner in crime and I had a great day. We bought our first home together! For the past six months we have been living in a small... two bedroom two bath townhome. We purchased it today from my parents. We are so happy! Both Rick and I have spent the better part of a decade working toward specific careers, careers where you start at the bottom and work your way up. That means not a lot of money and very humble rental properties. When we had the opportunity to move into this quaint condo tucked in a neighborhood at the base of the Pointe at Tapitillo Cliffs, we pounced. Being able to buy it meant the world to both of us.
Many people may turn their noses up at our little place, but let me tell you, beneath the surface, is potential. Rick and I will begin to remodel- fixing ceilings, re-tiling floors, expanding the kitchen- almost immediately. Its our dreams of what this place will be that kept us going as we signed document after document...the pen became heavier and heavier as we promised to keep our financial commitment... We are no longer locked into a lease, but now earning equity!!!!!!
Tonight, we celebrated with a bottle of champagne and a toast to OUR HOME together, may God bless it!
